Bandipora, January 13: In a heartwarming development, the Medical Superintendent of District Hospital (DH) Bandipora, Dr. Masrat Iqbal Wani, on Monday, issued a certificate of completion of treatment for a clubfoot patient. The patient, Khatija, was born at DH Bandipora four months ago and diagnosed with clubfoot during screening by the District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC) at DH Bandipora.
Following her diagnosis, Khatija was referred to Dr. Nadeem Ali, Consultant Orthopedician at DH Bandipora, who initiated her treatment. After a series of follow-up sessions and dedicated care, her treatment has been successfully completed, marking a significant milestone for the patient and her family.
The DEIC at DH Bandipora has been instrumental in facilitating such treatments. Under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) scheme of the National Health Mission (NHM) Jammu and Kashmir, financial assistance of ₹84,000 has been provided to 12 patients in the current financial year.
Dr. Masrat Iqbal Wani also appealed to the general public to visit the hospital if they know of or have anyone around with conditions such as cleft lip and palate, congenital heart defects (CHD), clubfoot, or any other disabilities or disorders in children under the “4Ds” category. He encouraged families to bring such children to the DEIC section of the hospital, where they can access free benefits, treatment, and referral support.
He commended the efforts of the DEIC team and Dr. Nadeem Ali for their commitment to ensuring quality healthcare for children with special needs. The superintendent emphasized the importance of early diagnosis and treatment, highlighting the hospital's continued dedication to providing affordable and accessible healthcare to all.
This achievement reflects the collaborative efforts of DH Bandipora and NHM J&K in transforming lives and reinforcing their commitment to community health.
