
Srinagar, August 8: The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) on Saturday carried out simultaneous search operations at multiple locations in Anantnag and Shopian districts, officials said.
In Anantnag, CIK personnel searched the residence of Shada Bano, wife of Ata Mohammad Qazi, at Hiller Shahabad in Dooru.
In Shopian, a CIK team under the supervision of DYSP Showkat Abdullah conducted a search at the residence of Gulzar Ahmad Wani, son of Ghulam Mohammad Wani, in Hushangpora, Zainapora.
Officials said the searches were linked to FIR No. 03/2023 registered at Police Station CIK Srinagar under Sections 505 and 153-A of the IPC and Sections 13 and 18 of the UAPA. The case is reportedly related to SIM cards.
Officials further said that Wani's son, Usman Gulzar, is currently lodged at Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu. He is an accused in FIR No. 104/2022 registered at Police Station Zainapora under provisions of the Arms Act, IPC and UAPA.
The search operations were underway when the report was filed, with further details awaited.
The CIK has continued its investigation and search operations across Kashmir in cases related to alleged anti-national activities, with officials examining digital and other material evidence during such operations.
