
Ganderbal, Mar 6: Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir), led by its Vice Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath has extended congratulations to its worthy Chancellor, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Syed Ata Hasnain, on his appointment as the Hon’ble Governor of Bihar.
In a congratulatory message, Prof. A Ravinder Nath, described the development as a moment of pride for the University fraternity. He said the worthy Chancellor played a crucial role in guiding the University during his tenure as Chancellor and took keen interest in the overall development (academics, research and infrastructure) of the University. “Worthy Chancellor consistently encouraged the institution to align its academic programmes with emerging national and global needs. “During the last two years, he laid the foundation stone for the University’s amphitheatre and inaugurated the CUKashmir FM Community Radio Station,” CUKashmir Vice-Chancellor, further added. Prof. A Ravinder Nath said, the Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Syed Ata Hasnain’s guidance has been instrumental in encouraging the University to expand its academic horizons by integrating modern technological disciplines while retaining a strong focus on social cohesion and sustainable growth. CUKashmir Vice Chancellor, said that in honour and recognition of his (Chancellor’s) services to the University, the varsity is planning to start a Centre of Research Excellence in Geopolitics and International Relations.
Congratulating the worthy Chancellor, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Shahid Rasool, said the worthy Chancellor, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Syed Ata Hasnain stressed the importance of introducing courses in cutting-edge technologies and skill development to prepare students for the demands of a rapidly evolving knowledge economy. He added that Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Syed Ata Hasnain emphasised the need for academic programmes that foster social harmony, national integration, and awareness about contemporary challenges such as climate change, disaster management, and sustainable and inclusive development.
Registrar, Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir congratulated the Chancellor on the prestigious appointment and said his encouragement and visionary leadership have greatly contributed to the University’s academic and institutional progress.
