School of Education (SoE), Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) organised an interaction meet on Career Counselling for the students of Hyderia Model School, at Tulmulla campus here on Monday.

Addressing the students, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath, began his talk by asking the students, “what you want to choose as a part of your career?”. He then went on to deliberate upon the conceptual understanding about areas like General Education, Technical Education, Vocational Education, Professional Education and Liberal Education. CUKashmir VC shared his ideas about what the appropriate career choices are for First, Second, and Third Generation learners, keeping in view their unique socioeconomic backgrounds.  He advised the young students by asking them to be intellectually vibrant and socially responsible citizens who can make meaningful contributions to nation-building through social outreach initiatives and activities.

“Your passion will always lead to a certain destination. Work driven by passion and dedication is a sure sign of its success”. He observed that, “every discipline has its own set of rewards and challenges provided that it is pursued with the right intent and attitude”.

Earlier, Prof. Syed Zahoor Ahmad Geelani, Dean and Head, SoE, interacted with young minds and urged them to dream big and work hard for their goals so that they can translate their dreams into realities.

Asst. Prof. Dr. M.S. Bhat, in his remarks, said, “life is an examination for every human being and success lies in whether we can face it and pass it with flying colours or not”. He added, “To know yourself is the first stepping stone towards your success because an educated person is one who knows what he doesn’t know”. He further stated that, “willingness to learn and a desire to question is what truly makes us ever-growing and developing”.

Sr. Asst. Prof. Dr. Firdous Ahmad Sofal, talked about the ideas associated with ‘character’, ‘basic education scheme’, ‘earn while you learn’, ‘Man as a supreme creation of his Creator’ and so on. He urged the students to “think big, set high targets and work towards the same so that you can achieve accordingly”.
