Rajouri, Jan 5: Daily wage workers in Rajouri protested on Monday, demanding implementation of the Minimum Wages Act, regularisation of their services, and immediate government intervention to address long-standing grievances.
The protesters said they have worked for years under various departments without job security or fair wages, despite repeated assurances from successive governments.
They urged the administration to discuss their issues during the upcoming Budget Session in Jammu, describing it as an opportunity for policy decisions benefiting thousands of daily wage workers.
Warning of intensified agitation if their demands remain unaddressed, the workers said they may stage a protest outside the Jammu Assembly. The demonstration concluded peacefully, with a commitment to continue their struggle until justice is delivered.
