In connection with the nationwide campaign ‘Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur’ under Good Governance Week-2024, the District Administration Srinagar, Friday organized a Grievance Redressal Camp at Lasjan in Srinagar Panchayat Block of the District.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat presided over the Grievance Redressal Camp.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Lasjan-A, Lasjan-B and other adjoining areas of the Panchayat Halqa during which Public representatives and local residents raised issues including augmentation of drainage system, sanction of Higher Secondary School, ATM facility, upgradation of play field, early completion of foot bridge at Bongam, approach road from Wathpora bridge and other development issues.
The DC after listening to the issues patiently directed the Officers to ensure time bound resolution of the grievances.
Addressing the occasion, the DC said that Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur campaign is aimed at bringing the Administration closer to rural communities for prompt grievances redressal and efficient service delivery.
He added that the purpose of holding such grievance redressal Camps is to take appraisal of local issues from the general public for precise and on ground assessment for their time bound redressal. He said such programmes also provide feedback to the Administration to tailor its interventions for the public good and reach to the doorstep of the people instead of them visiting Government Offices.
The DC underlined the importance of responsive Governance and urged Officers to prioritize grassroots concerns for inclusive development and welfare of people. He remarked that the Good Governance Week also reflects the administration’s resolve to ensure transparency, accountability, and development at the grassroots level.
Dr Bilal urged the local youth to come forward and take benefit from Government sponsored self employment schemes to earn livelihood with honour and dignity.
During the programme, awareness was generated among the general public regarding key Government initiatives. The DC also inspected the stalls setup by Agriculture, Horticulture, ICDS, Social Welfare, Animal Husbandry etc highlighting their schemes for the general public.
