
Taekwondo players have made a success taking twenty medals at 26th J&K UT Taekwondo Championships 2023-24 was held at Indoor Sports Hall, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. The event was organized by J&K Taekwondo Association (Regd) under the aegis of Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI) and J&K Sports Council (JKSC).
Five female Taekwondo athlete's of District Doda are selected to represent J&K - UT, in the upcoming Phase 2 of 1st Khelo India Women’s Taekwondo League 2023-24 from 21st to 24th February 2024 at KD Singh Babu Indoor Stadium, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, organized by Uttar Pradesh Taekwondo Association, under the aegis of Taekwondo Federation of India & Khelo India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India.
The Taekwondo athletes of Doda represented District Doda and secured 20 Medals in which 10 Gold, 03 Silver and 07 Bronze medal in the said event with the support of Mr Burhan Ud Din Khan (NIS Taekwondo Coach) as Team Coach.
Misbah Fatima - Gold, Radha Sharma - Gold, Zikra Fatima - Gold, Mehreen Bint Riaz - Gold, Ahmed Tahan - Gold, Kartik Shaan - Gold, Kashif Iqbal - Gold, Mutaib Masood - Gold, Rutba Majid - Gold, Zikra Fatima - Gold in (Pair Poomsae), Khadija Ul Qubra - Silver, Mohd Ayan Zargar - Silver, Misbah Fatima - Silver in (Kyorugi), Umar Iqbal Butt - Bronze, Mohd Yaffi - Bronze, Ridhima Singh Rakwal - Bronze, Sharjeel Banday - Bronze, Zaisha Raies - Bronze, Khadija Ul Qubra - Bronze in (Junior Individual Poomsae) and Radha Sharma - Bronze in (Junior Individual Poomsae). Gul Faiqa and Aira Fatima also participated in the said championships.
The championships were attended by more than 600 players from across the UT which was held with latest rulings of Taekwondo, using real time management of the competition system.
President District Doda Taekwondo Association Mr Junaid Ali Khan Congratulated the whole DDTA Team for this remarkable achievement.
