Dr Parvaiz Ahmad Koul, ex-professor and Head of Department, General Medicine, has been appointed as the new director of Sher e Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), officials said on Friday.
"As approved by the Chairman, Governing Body, SKIMS, Soura, Srinagar (Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor, J&K), Dr. Parvaiz Ahmad Koul, Ex-Professor and Head of Department, General Medicine, SKIMS, is hereby appointed as Director, Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura, Srinagar with effect from 01.01.2022."reads the order issued by Manoj Kumar Dwivedi Commissioner/secretary to the government.
At least 15 candidates were shortlisted for the post of Director, Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura, Srinagar after applications were invited by the J&K administration and SKIMS governing body.
Those shortlisted include Dr Yogesh Kumar Sarin, Dr Nisar Ahmad Bhat, Dr Altaf Umar Ramazan, Dr Omar Javed Shah, Dr Showkat Ali Mufti, Dr Ghulam Nabi Lone, Dr Bashir Ahmad Laway, Dr Showkat Ahmad, Dr Naseer Ahmad Mir, Dr Reyaz Ahmad Untoo, Dr Adil Hafeez Wani, Dr Mohammad Saleem Wani, Dr Abdul Wahid Khan and Dr Tariq Ahmad Gojwari.
Dr Koul will replace incumbent Dr A G Ahanger to the post.
