The Vice Chairperson (V.C) District Development Council (DDC) Bandipora, Kounser Shafeeq and Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bandipora, Zahoor Ahmad Mir Wednesday inaugurated the sale of hybrid vegetable seedlings at Seed Multiplication Farm Watpora, Bandipora.

The hybrid variety of seedlings of vegetables including Cabbage, Cauliflower, Knol Khol, Saag etc were provided to the people on subsidized rates. Officials said the main aim of distribution of seedlings is to promote Kitchen Garden activities in both urban and rural areas.
Speaking on the occasion, the VC urged the famers and unemployed youths to practice seedling production in their fields and kitchen gardens, which is a very profitable venture and can improve their socio economic plight for which the department is providing all technical guidance and support.
The sale witnessed tremendous response from the people including farmers and local population.
ADC Bandipora Zahoor Ahmad Mir said the district administration is committed to Promote Kitchen Garden Scheme in order to increase the production to bridge the gap in demand and supply in the local market.
