The Election Commission of India has approved reshuffle of some police officers in poll-bound Jammu and Kashmir.
Imtiyaz Hussain Mir, (JKPS:1999), has been appointed as the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar. This decision is part of a broader strategy to ensure effective law enforcement during the elections.
The Commission’s notice also confirmed appointments of other senior officers: Mohammad Zaid (JKPS:2001) as SSP Baramulla, Ghulam Jeelani Wani (JKPS:2001) as SSP of Kupwara and Ifroze Ahmad (JKPS:2004) as SP Handwara.
The Chief Secretary of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has been instructed to implement these postings and submit a compliance report urgently.
