
The Secretary J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board(KVIB) Dr. Jagdish Chander today presided over an awareness Camp Organised by the Board here at Beli Charana.
Dy. CEO KVIB Jammu Division, Executive Officer (Schemes), District Officer J&K KVIB Jammu and District Officer J&K KVIB Samba were also present.
Addressing a huge gathering of aspiring entrepreneurs and educated unemployed youth of the area, especially females, the Secretary stated that promoting entrepreneurship and skill development among women and marginal sections of the society is a key focus of the KVIB schemes. He underscored the need for conducting more awareness/ sensitization campaigns to disseminate the information about the self-employment schemes and programmes among the local communities.
Earlier, the Dy CEO gave detailed presentations about the modalities involved in implementation of JKREGP and PMEGP. “The aspiring entrepreneurs can apply online for availing the financial assistance under these schemes” he added.
The Secretary/ CEO also inaugurated a six month course in cutting and tailoring sponsored and financed by the J&K KVIB. A batch of 25 female candidates will be trained in cutting and Tailoring trade in the next six months.
