The Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, has announced scheduled power shutdowns in several areas of Srinagar to facilitate ongoing maintenance and infrastructure development projects.
These shutdowns will affect key regions as part of restoration and network upgrade initiatives.
The first shutdown will occur on 09 December 2024, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, involving the 33KV Rawalpora-Chanapora Tap Line. This maintenance work will lead to the temporary shutdown of the 33/11KV Receiving Station at Bone and Joint, impacting power supply to areas including Baghat, Rawalpora, Chanapora, Pamposh Colony, Azad Basti, and Natipora.
On 11 December 2024, power supply will also face disruptions for maintenance: From 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the 33KV Rawalpora-Silk Factory Line will be shut down. This will affect the 33/11KV Receiving Station at Silk Factory, cutting off power to Alchibagh, Rambagh, Solina, Old Barzulla, and LD Hospital areas.
Additionally, the 33KV GIS Tengpora Line will be shut down during the same time frame, impacting 33/11KV Receiving Stations at KP Bagh, Jawahar Nagar, and Rajbagh. Affected areas will include Alchibagh, Soiteng, KP Bagh, Mehjoor Nagar, Dewatering Station, Gogji Bagh, and Kursu Rajbagh.
Furthermore, maintenance to upgrade the 0.1 ACSR with 0.2 ACSR will result in the shutdown of the 33KV Nehalpora (Pattan) - Markundal Line on 07 & 10 December 2024, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This will lead to the temporary closure of 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Markundal, Naidkhai, Shahgund, and Aglar, which will affect power supply in Naidkhai, Markundal, Shahgund, Khamina, Zalpora, and Irrigation Col Sumbal areas.
Residents are requested to plan accordingly during these periods as restoration work continues to improve and maintain electricity infrastructure across the region.
