If we consider lion to be a king of the jungle then why do we fail to consider his kingship in the habitat where he has to prove his credentials against the swiftness of cheetah
People generally don’t like criticism as it taps into the most basic fears – that we are not good enough. Our decisions and actions are more or less influenced by the people around us. We fear if we act differently because that may get a public outlash. We are concerned about the people what they may say or think about us. We fear rejection, we fear of being judged and found wanting. Though we know we can’t please everyone but still our decision making is always dented by the same thought process, trying to get everybody into loop which ends up into an average mindset and decisiveness. Our aptitude of problem solving is mediocre because we fill in disorganized fears into it. The sense of thinking about people loops out into a habit of over thinking. This stresses us unnecessarily and brings our metal peace into a grinder. Robert M. Hutchkins became the president of one of the top universities of America though he started his journey from a laundry to wood cutting and finally a president at the age of 36.
Senior colleagues started to criticize him, his decisions, even news papers were filled with his amateur skills. Once his father was asked, if he feels low after reading about his son’s needless criticism. He replied that nobody kicks a dead dog. He is being criticized or humiliated indicates that he is in the game, prospering and pulling the feathers for his cap. That is what has been taught to his son. He never considered the people who were all guns blazing against him and went on becoming the president of America’s top University. He never stopped because he did not care a hang to what people think about him. Now think if he had considered the peoples’ outcry then what would have been the outcome. The reason we think what people will say stops (most of) our growth. This mindset keeps our dreams at bay and thus we follow the beaten tracks only. Successful people don’t do different things but they do things differently. This is what we need to have in our approach and translate that to our young generation. Our belief system needs to be tangible which is possible when we have self respect, self love and self belief. Our belief system plays an incredible card for what we are and what we have to be.
At times we underestimate our potential and end up as a person with average success or no success at all. We don’t work on our belief system and thus lose ourselves or our individuality among the forced decisions made by others for us. People with low belief system must learn its vitality from nature. If we consider lion to be a king of the jungle then why do we fail to consider his kingship in the habitat where he has to prove his credentials against the swiftness of cheetah, cleverness of jackal or mightiness of elephant or giraffe? The king of the jungle lacks all these traits but still is believed to be king because he thinks that way and behaves as the same. What we think is what we become. Our thoughts are more than thoughts. They determine our progress our life and define us. They sketch our view towards the world and the people around us. “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” This mind is a powerful tool when it comes to aspiring to success. Believing our convictions to achieve success is the first step in achieving it. Pessimism is never a tool of a progressive mindset but the optimism is. Optimistic person believes that “he can and he will” and is buoyant about his success. It does not mean that he is a prophetic creature but he comes to believe what rattles around inside our heads. He has the courage to see the light on the other side of a dark tunnel.
You need to have a “growth mindset” which helps you to believe that you can work on improving yourself or that there is opportunity all around you. Whereas, if you have a fixed mindset, you believe you cannot change your capabilities and there are limited opportunities to be had. You are always depressed and get trapped in a habit of over-thinking. “Everything hangs on one’s thinking…A man is as unhappy as he has convinced himself he is.”
Our thoughts are the soil from which our values and, by extension, life grow. We live what we think about constantly. These thoughts may be intangible, but their power is in how they affect us and make us act. They can either broaden our horizons or hold us back. The problem is not looping out the negative thoughts but giving in to them. All of us may have them at some point or another but the issue is when we give them a chance to sprout out/garner. Our thoughts are ours alone. We have the ability to choose how we will live our lives. Our thoughts are incredibly important because they dictate almost every aspect of our lives.
If you want to improve your quality of life, change your thought process. You have to act if you want to increase your range through knowledge, understanding, or experience travel. “How long are you going to wait before you demand the best for yourself?”
