The people in area of Chak located in north Kashmir's Palhallan Pattan are facing severe water scarcity from last one year as the Jal Shakti (PHE) department is waiting for non-objection certificate (NoC) to come through from National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) before connecting the water pipeline.

Due to lack of portable water, the residents of this area have to travel three to four kms away from their locality to bring water for their daily needs.

The locals informed that although the pipe lines are already installed in the whole area. However, they have been told that they need the no objection certificate (NoC) from NHAI so that the PHE department can connect the main water supply pipe which is to brought from one side of the national highway to the other side and is to be connected with the water supply of this area.

The people of Chak Jamal Mir appealed government and to the concerned associated administrations to look towards this matter as soon as possible.
