Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A Police party of Police Station Uri headed by SHO PS Uri at a checkpoint established at Nambla Uri, intercepted a person identified as Mohd Shareef Sheikh son of Baba Sheikh resident of Nambla Uri. During search, 4.20 Kgs of Cannabis Powder & cash ₹2000 (Proceeds of narcotics) were recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to PS Uri where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Uri and investigation has been initiated.
