Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Pulwama have arrested 02 drug peddlers and recovered huge quantity of poppy straw from their possession.
Based on specific inputs, Police in Pulwama conducted two separate raids at Lolipora Kakapora and Wanpora. During search of the specific house, officers were able to recover one quintal poppy straw along with weighing apparatus from the said house. The owner of the house identified as Javid Ahmad Ganai son of Mohd Sultan Ganie resident of Lolipora has been arrested. In a similar action at Wampora, Police recovered 27 kgs of poppy straw from the house of Tariq Ahmed Ganie. He has been arrested and both were shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered and investigation have been initiated.
General public is once again requested to cooperate with police in the battle against the drug menace and any information regarding anti-social activity in their neighbourhood should be shared with nearby police unit so that timely action against the culprits will be taken.
