Police organises ‘Run for Unity’ in South
In a heartfelt tribute to the brave martyrs, Police organised Run for Unity in Pulwama and Awantipora as a part of ongoing Police Flag Day Week.
In Pulwama, the "Unity Run" for boys and girls started at 8:00 AM and took place from Shaheed Farooq Chowk via Circle Road to DPL Pulwama, bringing together the community in display of solidarity and remembrance of martyrs. The event was flagged-off by SSP Pulwama Ms. PD Nitya-IPS accompanied by other senior officers of the district. Students from various schools participated enthusiastically in the event.
After the conclusion of Unity Run, students were given refreshments and entertained by displaying funny shows and entertaining programmes at Conference Hall DPL Pulwama. Moreover, mementos and cash prizes were distributed to the top three position holders from both, boys and girls, recognizing their outstanding performances and inspiring others to engage in healthy activities.
The Police District Awantipora organised ‘Run for Unity’ at Pampore, wherein more than 100 participants of different age groups from various areas of Sub-Division Pampore participated. The event started at 09:00 am from Dusoo Pampore and culminated at Govt Degree College Pampore. During the flag off ceremony, officers while interacting with the participants expressed that "Run for Unity” event has been organised in remembrance of the courage of Police martyrs, their valour and sacrifices towards the unity and integrity of the nation as well as for protecting the life and property of the people.
During closing ceremony, top three winners were awarded with cash prizes and appreciation certificates. Besides, top-ten position holders in the run were given certificates of appreciation.
On the occasion, SDPO Pampore, DySP DAR, SHO PS Pampore and other police officers were present.
