Radha Sharma clinched Silver in 2nd Mahakal Cup Open National Taekwondo Championship from 25th - 27th, April 2023 at Madhav Seva Niyas, Mahakal Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Organised by District Taekwondo Association Ujjain, Under the Aegis of Sports State Taekwondo Association Madhya Pradesh.
Hailing from Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, Radha won Silver medal in Under 47 kg Junior Girls category on first day of the Championship.
Many teams from different States/ UT participated in the championship which was held with latest rulings of Taekwondo, using real time management of the competition system. Radha, who hails from the far-flung village of Dhanori, Tantna in Gundna - Doda, became the first woman Junior Athlete from Doda to win a Silver medal in a national Taekwando event.
She is currently practising in Shield Taekwondo Academy trained by coach Burhan Ud Din Khan (NIS). After claiming silver medal in prestigious Championship, Radha attributed her success to her coach Burhan Ud Din Khan, International Taekwondo Player & Chief Coach of Shield Taekwondo Academy. Shri Junaid Ali Khan, President District Doda Taekwondo Association also Congratulated Radha Sharma for this remarkable achievement.
Radha a trainee of Shield Taekwondo Academy Doda is selected on her recent based performance at J&K - UT and District level Taekwondo Championships. Recently she won bronze Medal in 25th J&K UT Taekwondo Championships at Dogra Brahmin Pratinidhi Sabha, Prade Jammu, Organised by J&K Taekwondo Association under the aegis of Taekwondo Federation of India and Gold Medal in 3rd District Doda Taekwondo Championships at Community Hall Doda, Organised by District Doda Taekwondo Association, Under the Aegis of J&K Taekwondo Association (Regd). Radha also won Bronze medal in 4th National official Qwan Ki Do Championship held at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi.
