Div Com for strict compliance of CAB rules

The Divisional Commissioner (Div. Com.) Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole, today directed concerned officers to ensure strict implementation of Covid-19 Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) to prevent spread of the virus when schools and colleges reopen.
Chairing a meeting on the reopening of schools and colleges in the Kashmir division, Pole laid stress on framing of a uniform checklist for every educational institution regarding Covid containment measures and also insisted on maintaining the highest level of sanitation at all times to ensure a very secure environment for both students and teachers.
Director (School Education); Director (Health Services Kashmir); Director (Colleges, Principals and Heads of Institutions); In-charge (Divisional Covid Control Room, Kashmir) and other officers attended Thursday’s meetings.
The Divisional Commissioner cautioned that before the opening of schools or colleges, the concerned administration of the institution shall inspect the premises physically to ascertain preparedness and planning before allowing students in.
He said the check list must include the cleaning of grounds, classrooms, availability of clean water and repairing of washrooms. He instructed all institution heads to designate a nodal officer to supervise Covid specific activities.
Every classroom shall possess a list of CAB do's and dont's and Covid- specific pamphlets, besides soaps/ sanitizers for handwashing purpose and ensure a scientific disposal of masks.
Zonal education officers were directed to submit their interim reports about the readiness of these institutions for facilitating offline education before February 28, 2022.
He said all educational institutions would be inspected by public health experts from time to time to ensure compliance of protocols and heads of institutions would be responsible to prevent students from indulging in irresponsible activities in their premises.
He stressed on holding parent and teacher meetings on a regular basis to keep students away from irresponsible activities and drugs abuse menace which has been noticed for some time.
