One of the greatest Muhadiths from Kashmir, Hazrat Allama Anwar Shah Kashmiri (RA) was a great Islamic scholar, poet with the great & contribution towards Hadith literature of India.
Moulana Shah Mohammad Anwar popularly known as Moulana Anwar Shah Kashmiri (RA) was born on November 26, 1875 ( shawal 18 1292 AH) in the warnov village of Lolab Valley in Kupwara district of Kashmir.
He was the son of Moulana Muazam Ali Shah (RA) and the seventh generation great grandson of Bara (Amjad Sheikh) Masood Narwari or Narwari Sahib .
Hazrat shah sahab have two sons namely Hazrat Azhar Shah Qaiser and Hazrat Anzar Shah Kashmiri.

HAZRAT ALLAMA ANWAR SHAH KASHMIRI AS A HADITH TEACHER:
Hazrat Shah Sahab a luminary in the domain of Hadith played a pivotal role in preserving & disseminating the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in the Indian subcontinent .
Hazrat learnt Hadith education in Deoband from Hazrat Mahmud-Al Hasan DB & Hazrat moulana Rashid Ahmed Gangoi Shah DB .
Shah taught in Darul Uloom Deoband for many year after he got the permission from his mentor.
Later, he taught in Hijaz for some year before returning to Darul Uloom Deoband.
Later, he established a new madrasa in Dhabil, Gujarat aiming to promote the study of Hadith literature. He is credited with having contributed to the sciences of interpretation of Hadith. He had a great passion for reading all treasures of knowledge and he was endowed by nature with incomparable memory so much so that he would quote passage after passage, line by line with great ease during his lectures.

RELATIONSHIP WITH DR SIR MOHAMMAD IQBAL (RA)
Dr Sir Mohammad Iqbal’ss great interest in Islamic teachings owned much to Maulana Anwar Shah Kashmiri’s academic benevolence.
Iqbal held him in great esteem as an outstanding scholar of Islam with no parallel in Islamic history during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
A HOME VISIT:
Hazrat Anwar Shah Kashmiri (RA) in 1923 visited second time his native village Lolab to meet his father and brothers. During his day in Lolab, he delivered several sermons the huge gatherings in which the lectures about Quran and Hadith wire given in late 1920 Syed Rashid Raza, an acclaimed luminary of Jamia al Azhar of Egypt visited Darul Uloom Deoband seminary in which Maulana Anwar Shah Kashmiri (RA) addressed the hall in Arabic explained the historical background of Deoband and it is operational teachings mechanism of varied subjects of tafseer, Hadith, fiqah.
The Muslim Ummah lost the diamond on 1933. Hazrat Maulana Anwar Shah Kashmiri (RA) was very ill for long duration and his last rites were performed in Darul Uloom Deoband.
