Uri, Oct 3: The Uri administration has ordered temporary closure of the Uri National Highway on October 4 and 11 to facilitate hill cutting work along the road.

The Sub Divisional Magistrate Uri issued the order following a request from the Officer Commanding, 53 RCC, GREF, seeking temporary closure of the highway to carry out the work.

As per the advisory, commuters, transport operators and the general public have been asked to use the alternative Bandi, Paranpillan, Dachi route during the closure period.

The administration has also directed that hill cutting work should not be carried out during government working days between 9:00 am and 10:30 am, and between 3:30 pm and 5:00 pm.

The executing agency has been instructed to keep the road open for vehicular movement during these specified hours and take all necessary safety precautions to protect commuters.

The temporary restrictions have been put in place to facilitate the work while ensuring the safety and convenience of road users.
