Baramulla, Sep 7: The Wildlife Department on Monday captured a leopard that had been roaming in the Dangbal Takki Sultan area of Baramulla district, bringing relief to residents who had expressed concern over the animal's presence in the locality.

The leopard had reportedly been spotted moving around residential areas, causing apprehension among locals. Following the reports, Wildlife Department personnel launched an operation and successfully captured the animal.

Residents expressed relief after the leopard was caught, ending fears over its movement in the area.

A Wildlife Department official said that the animal was later released into a nearby forest.
