Srinagar, April 22: Capt Vishal Bhandral, Kirti Chakra (North Kashmir Volleyball Premier League) is an annual sports competition conducted in remembrance of Capt Vishal Bhandral, Kirti Chakra (Posthumous) for his supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. The tournament has grown into one of the most prestigious sporting event of North Kashmir, with participation rising manifold, showcasing boundless passion of Kashmiri youth for volleyball.

This years' tournament was conducted in two phases. In first phase, volleyball matches were held at Manasbal, Pohrupet, Charkut and Haiderbeg wef 23-28 March 2026. The matches drew large number of spectators and created a sporting spirit across North Kashmir. The second phase, was conducted at Bandipora wef 06-21 April 2026, wherein winners of the first phase participated for the coveted prize. During the conduct of the tournament players displayed remarkable skills and sportsmanship. The finals were held on 21 April 2026 at the Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, Bandipora, between Safapora Volleyball Team and Jahama Warriors.
The match was graced by the General Officer Commanding, Counter Insurgency Force (Kilo), alongwith officials of District Administration, J&K Police and Para Military Forces underlining the importance of the event as a symbol of unity, shared progress and promotion of sports culture. This year's edition will be remembered as a landmark celebration of sportsmanship, passion and unity among local populace, paying befitting tribute to the legacy of Capt Vishal Bhandral, Kirti Chakra (Posthumous).
