Her journey took a pivotal turn when she was introduced to Wheelchair Basketball by the Voluntary Medicare Society Bemina Srinagar, an organisation dedicated to providing support and rehabilitation to PwDs. As a National Player in Wheelchair Basketball, she serves as the Vice-Captain and Coordinator of the Jammu & Kashmir Wheelchair Basketball Team. Her coaching certificate in wheelchair basketball is just the beginning of her journey to inspire others.
Nusrat's athletic repertoire doesn't end there. She's also an accomplished Archery Player and has made her mark in athletics, securing top honors in Wheelchair Marathon/Race competitions. Her agility and determination have earned her the First Position in Wheelchair Marathon and Javelin at Islamic University Awantipora. And, she's a force to be reckoned with in standing cricket, having played several matches. Recently, she bagged the top spot in the wheelchair race conducted by J&K Police in July 2025, further solidifying her position as a leading athlete in the UT.
