In general, office politics is the process of persuading others to agree with your view point usually by the use of words rather than the use of force. It is done with a view to benefit oneself at the expense of another in ways that are not normal. Office politics involves processes and behaviors in human interactions that include power and authority. The aim of office politics is not always increased Pay, D.A or a promotion .Often the goal may simply be greater power or control for it's personal gain. Examples include spreading rumours, talking behind someone's back, withholding important information, deliberately excluding others from workplace activities , taking side at the time of conflict, emotionally lashing out, complaining about perceived wrongs, misguiding & misleading the boss by honey tongue & to sell ones efforts and ideas behind the scene.

Dear readers, it is worthwhile to mention here that delay tactics strategy is also being used as office politics by some officials. The examples are like that the "File" is on the table of boss & you have to wait till NHW would be opened for traffic, particularly when status quo is being preferred so as to compel stakeholders to accept a settlement. After some days when asked regarding the status of "File", the simple & polite reply with quick response comes out as" wait" with justification that due to cancellation of "Flights" the Boss could not attend the office. To overcome such situation govt has switched over to e- office as a modest sort. But nature can not be changed. After switching over to e- office the reply in a Courteous voice has also been refashioned like:-
1.The website is under maintenance
2.File is in the" login" of Mr.A who is out of station on LTC
3. There is some technical glitch in the System.
4."Yours faithfully" printed on right side is to be transposed to left side as desired by the competent authority.
5.File is under discussion
Is it development towards an improved or more advanced condition?
Only the fittest will survive , and the fittest will be the ones who understand such office politics.
Instead of" Yours sincerely/ faithfully" the word "hopefully" is being considered standard in all varieties of writing and speech.
I don't change, only the things around me change.
Delay tactics are used as a form of indirect refusal.
Horrible thoughts fill me up. If two criteria political intelligence & unified vision are plotted against each other then it is important to perceive just like as clever and adaptable as fox, silent and observant as owl, noisy & strong as mule & gentle and timid as sheep.
