There is big dichotomy in the often quoted controversial statement that one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter. The statement sounds paradoxical and funny but it is often said so.It also happens in the society that a slain terrorist is a pure terrorist to some and to some others he is a martyr who died for a noble cause. But then a terrorist is a terrorist pure ,total and undiluted if talked in an unbiased manner and in fact cannot be given the status of a freedom fighter and on his death the status of a martyr. Again a terrorist is a terrorist whatsoever is the cause behind his joining the ranks of terrorism .Terrorism cannot be justified at any cost for any reason and therefore terrorism is a scourge and curse which has invaded the whole world and India is the victim of terrorism from the last more than three decades. There are people in every country who unfortunately glorify terrorism and Jehad for their narrow, myopic and partisan view and they however are not correct and cannot be justified and exonerated for their passive and tacit support to terrorism and also for their partisan role in glorifying terrorism and militancy.
Whatever is attributed as the cause of terrorism and militancy this is against the societal, moral, religious, human norms and thus is against the society and true religion but the radicals and fundamentalists and doctorrinated people unfortunately give a religious color to terrorism and militancy which is the travesty of time and reflects badly on the human society. The same is unfortunately happening in the militant infested Jammu and Kashmir but we should keep our society free from the menace of terrorism as not religious cause is served by terrorism save alone to give a bad name to religion and we as the responsible and conscious members of the society should not allow to give a religious color to terrorism and abstain from saying that those slain terrorists are serving a religious cause and go to heaven for their sacrifice for the so called noble cause. This is a fact and stark reality that a terrorist has no religion and it is sad and bad to associate any particular religion with terrorism because all religions give the message of peace, equality, love and brotherhood and more so the religion of Islam which prohibits atrocities with the people and with the with the followers of other religions. In fact all religions are for peace, mutual love and brotherhood and unity of mankind and therefore all religions including Islam abhor terrorism and atrocities and cruelties with other people and therefore we are mistaken when some we glorify terrorism and give justification for the acts of terror as terrorism cannot and should not be justified on whatsoever reason and it is irreligious to glorify terrorism and so we should abstain from glorifying terrorism for the sake of humanity and morality.
The time has come that we should call a spade a spade and rise against terrorism for the sake of saving our society and stop glorification of terrorism. Kashmiris irrespective of religion have suffered and are even today suffering because of terrorism. The economy and composite and diverse culture and communal harmony as well as sufi and Reshi tradition has also suffered enormously and now terrorism should stop and our society should be freed from the scourge of fundamentalism, radicalism, extremeism, militancy and terrorism as these curses have caused enough damage to our culture and all this should be done away with for ensuring peace, security and development as development is the mahamantra for the progress of the society and it is the responsibility to give peace a chance for the sake of peace, tranquillity and development. Enough precious human blood had been spilled because of militancy and there should be an immediate to it so that society develops and people take a breath of freedom and relief. For bringing peace and development all of us should play our role and contribute for peace otherwise future generations will not pardon us. There is a paradox of good terrorists and bad terrorists. In our neighboring country there was and is the talk and debate of good terrorists and bad terrorists. One of the former prime minister General Mussaraf talked of good terrorists and bad terrorists during his regime. But it is very unfair and undesirable and there cannot be good terrorists and bad terrorists because terrorism is a menace and all terrorists are bad. The selectiveism in terrorism is undesirable and unjust and as such is avoidable. Terrorism cannot be categorized as good and bad as per your political expediency and convenience and therefore there should be a full stop to the bad practice of calling and differentiating between good and bad terrorists because basically and fundamentally all terrorists are bad and terrorism is a curse for humanity and we should not support and glorify any form and manifestation of terrorism and in this lies the good of all.
The word good terror and so good terrorism should be struck off from the vocabulary of the terrorism and an era of peace, security, goodwill and development should be ensured so that people of all faiths live in an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity and this has been taught in our religious scriptures and we should honor our holy books and maintain peace ,security ,mutual brotherhood and work for development and progress as terrorism has no place in 21st century and this century be one of peace ,prosperity and development. Terrorism in all its forms and manifestations is bad and is a scourge for humanity and all of us should play our positive role for eliminating terrorism from our society lock, stock and barrel and in this lies the good of all the people. So there is no good in calling terrorists as freedom fighters and on their death as martyrs and this should stop for bringing an era of peace, security and development. We should also not call and categorize terrorists as good and bad as it is wrong because a terrorist is a terrorist pure and total.In short we should protect and guard our society from the menace of terrorism.
