Man is a product of his environment. The environment a person grows up in significantly impacts their mental makeup, in addition to their physical being. The company of anti-social elements leads to destruction. May God protect and help the environment where the gatherings of thugs, gamblers, and thieves are considered normal. The assemblies of gamblers are synonymous with inviting ruin. It is in these very gatherings that one gets addicted to new forms of gambling, an addiction that cannot be shaken off even when one wants to.
Promotion of Gambling
A few days ago, during the IPL cricket match, I saw how famous personalities from Bollywood and the cricket world are promoting online gambling. These so-called celebrities entice innocent minds towards gambling, and gradually, the whole society gets caught in its trap. Who will make these unscrupulous people understand that they are consciously and unconsciously sowing the seeds of deviance and sin in society? These very shameless individuals are racing to provide higher education for their own children, but they prey upon the helplessness of ordinary people and attack their life savings.
Encouragement of Gamblers
We are such a shameless people that we crown gamblers with glory. In our society, a person who earns crores through online gambling receives so much acclaim on social media sites that other people leave all their work, download various gambling applications on their phones, and start imagining themselves as millionaires in a fantasy world. We should die of shame. In today's times, even the profession of consuming poison doesn't exist, but people intoxicated with gambling are staking their family's savings. People are beating their chests against inflation on one hand, while on the other, they are wasting crores in online gambling and descending into the dark valleys of anxiety. Who should reprimand them for this foolish behaviour? It is like a house that has turned into a heap of ashes by its own lamp.
Serious Consequences

The result is clear: an increase in social evils and the destruction of countless households. Incidents of murder are rising. Relationships are suffering decay. Theft is increasing. Mental illnesses are growing. Family savings are now being depleted. The roots of society are weakening. The thread that bound us all together has now almost snapped. A lack of trust and an environment of fear is everywhere. The footsteps of death are audible every moment. Peace of heart has ended. The light in our eyes has dimmed. Sleep has vanished from our lives. Restlessness is common. There are heaps of sorrows. A scene of sadness prevails. Now it seems that humanity has ended.
Before it is too late, we must all make every effort to stop the storms of gambling and betting. If we continue on this path, the day is not far when our homes will present the sight of graveyards. Our lives are now slowly heading towards a destination that is nothing but ruin. It is the responsibility of every conscious member of society to keep themselves and others away from the curses of gambling. It is like chewing iron, but if the life of even one young person is saved from being wasted in gambling, it is an excellent sign of a righteous struggle.
From educational institutions to religious bodies, there is a need to play a prominent role in this regard. Promoting Bait-ul-Maal (public treasury for welfare) has become an urgent need of the hour. Supporting the poor has now become an act of worship. Dealing a crushing blow to the root sin can only be done by supporting the destitute. Rather than helping someone temporarily, it is better to find ways to support them for a lifetime so that they refrain from constantly holding out their hands to others for help.
