The Saathi (2) Scholarship Test, conducted by Sadam KIE (SKIE), witnessed an overwhelming response across Kashmir on Sunday, with more than 3,000 students appearing at four designated centres, including Parray Pora, Raj Bagh and Soura in Srinagar, and Anantnag in south Kashmir.
The special examination was organised for students who had missed the earlier Saathi (2) test conducted last Sunday due to unavoidable circumstances. SKIE authorities said the decision was taken to ensure that deserving students are not deprived of the opportunity to compete for scholarships because of genuine difficulties.
Students from different districts reached the examination centres early in the morning amid tight supervision and smooth arrangements. Many candidates said the initiative reflected sensitivity towards students’ concerns and academic aspirations.
“I was unable to appear in the earlier test due to a medical emergency in my family. Today’s test gave me a second chance, and I am grateful for it,” said a student at the Parray Pora centre.
Another candidate from Anantnag said the test was conducted in a fair and transparent manner. “The paper was balanced and tested our understanding rather than rote learning. I feel relieved that we were given another opportunity,” the student said.
, Dr Sadam, Director of Sadam KIE, said the special test was organised keeping students’ interests in mind. “Our aim is to promote merit and ensure that no capable student is left behind due to circumstances beyond their control. The response today clearly shows the trust students and parents have in the Saathi scholarship programme,” he said.
Dr Sadam added that SKIE remains committed to supporting students from diverse backgrounds through academic guidance and scholarship initiatives. “Education should open doors, not close them. We will continue to take student-friendly steps wherever required,” he said.
SKIE authorities said the evaluation process will be completed in a time-bound manner and results will be announced soon through official channels.
