Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa ,in presence of Conservator Forest North, Irfan Ali today inaugurated a Mela under PM Awas Urban (Housing for All) at Dak Bungalow, aimed at spreading awareness about Government schemes and showcasing the vision of affordable housing for all.

On the occasion, DC Baramulla inspected various stalls installed by different departments to create awareness among the public regarding welfare schemes and services. He appreciated the efforts of officials in reaching out to people through such interactive platforms.
The DC along with the senior officers present also took part in a plantation drive carried out within the Dak Bungalow premises, reinforcing the message of sustainable and eco-friendly development.
During the Mela, DC handed over house keys to a number of eligible beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U), enabling them to realize the dream of owning their homes.
Earlier, the DC flagged off a run for Housing organized by the education department Baramulla, where students participated in the run to spread the message of affordable housing for all under PMAY-U.
