Police arrest 3 drug peddlers in South Kashmir

Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested a drug peddler in Awantipora and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A Police party headed by Incharge Police Post Reshipora under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora arrested one drug peddler identified as Mohd Amin Sheikh son of Mohd Rafiq Sheikh resident of Batpora Gulzarpora, Awantipora and recovered 4.2Kgs of Bung Chura and 310 grams of Charas powder from his possession. He has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 192/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated.

People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law.
Meanwhile, Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested two drug Peddlers in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
A police party of Police Post Mirbazar headed by Incharge PP Mirbazar at a checkpoint established at Malpora Chowk intercepted a vehicle (Truck) bearing registration No. JK08-6623 with 02 persons on board. During search, 4.6Kgs of Poppy Straw like contraband substance concealed in a nylon bag was recovered from their possession. They have been identified as Mohd Aslam Kumar son of Abdul Gani Kumar resident of Marhama Anantnag and Rakesh Kumar resident of Darshan Kumar resident of Pathankot Punjab. Both the accused persons have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 214/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been initiated.
