Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police in Awantipora arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A police party of Police Station Pampore under the supervision of SDPO Pampore at a checkpoint established at Literbal Pampore near gas plant intercepted 02 suspicious persons.They have been identified as Tariq Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Salam resident of Tulbagh Pampore and Javid Ahmad Dar son of Mohd Akram Dar resident of Lalpora Chatlam. During search, 840 grams of grinded Cannabis like substance was recovered from their possession .

Both the accused have been arrested. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 3/2025 under relevant section of NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Pampore.
