Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police in Kulgam arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police team of Police Post Mirbazar during patrolling in Furrah intercepted a suspicious person identified as Mohd Rafiq Sheikh @Raff dozer son of Habibullah sheikh resident of Furrah. During search, 248 grams of Charas like contraband substance was recovered from his possession.
Meanwhile, a police team of Police Station DH Pora at a checkpoint established near Govt Middle School Gandhwani, DH Pora apprehended a suspicious person identified as Waseem Ahmad Bhat son of Fayaz Ahmad Bhat resident of Gandhwani DH Pora. During search, 1235 grams of grinded Cannabis like contraband substance was recovered from his possession.
Both the accused have been arrested. Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and further investigations have been initiated.
