
Srinagar, Nov 13: In ongoing crackdown against the menace of drugs, J&K Police have arrested 03 drug peddlers in Shopian, Awantipora & Ganderbal and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In Shopian, a police party of Police Station Imamsahib at a checkpoint established at Manihal crossing, intercepted a suspicious person. During search, charas like substance (06 Sticks) weighing approximately 245 grams was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Shahnawaz Ahmad Allai resident of Melhura Zainapora. He has been arrested and a case vide FIR No. 37/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Imamsahib, and investigation has been initiated.
In Awantipora, a police party of Police Station Khrew at a checkpoint established at Kharchek Sharshalli road, intercepted a suspicious person identified as Bilal Ahmad Lone son of Mohd Maqbool Lone resident of Sharshalli. During his personal search, 1.183 kg of Bang Choora was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and a case FIR No. 90/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Khrew, and investigation has been set into motion.
Moreover, On the directions of SSP Ganderbal, acting swiftly on specific information, a police party from Police Post Shadipora under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ganderbal, led by Incharge PP Shadipora apprehended notorious drug peddler identified as Ayan Ibni Ahmad son of Gh. Ahmad Ganie resident of Nawabagh Ganderbal at Nawabagh near Government Unani Medical College. During the search, 27 strips of Spasmo-Proxyvon-Plus capsules (total 216 capsules) of Psychotropic Substance was recovered from his possession. The recovered psychotropic substance was seized on the spot as per legal procedure.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 190/2025 under NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ganderbal and investigation has been initiated.
