Anantnag, June 28: Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking, police arrested a drug peddler in Anantnag and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

A police party of Police Station Bijbehara during naka checking in Nowbug area arrested a drug peddler identified as Fayaz Ahmad Ganie son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Ganie resident of Kadlabal, Pampore, presently residing at Kanderpora Guree, Bijbehara. During the checking, police recovered 74 grams of charas-like substance from his possession.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 185/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Bijbehara, and investigation has been set into motion to ascertain the source and intended destination of the contraband.
Police reiterates its firm commitment to eradicating the menace of drugs and appeals to the public to continue supporting the police by sharing information about drug-related activities in their areas.
