In a continued crackdown against the drug menace, Police in Awantipora have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A Police party of Police Station Awantipora at a checkpoint established at Padgampora Crossing, intercepted a suspicious person identified as Nazim Ahmad Mir son of Ab Hamid Mir resident of Kawani. During search, 120 gms of Charas like substance (in shape of Sticks) wrapped in maize husk was recovered from his possession. Subsequently, he was arrested and a case vide FIR No.100/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Awantipora and investigation has been initiated.
