Police arrests two drug peddlers in Budgam

Continuing its sustained efforts to curb the menace of drug trafficking, Police in Budgam have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A police team from Police Station Budgam, during patrolling in village Karipora near the Railway Crossing, two intercepted suspicious persons. On seeing the police party, they attempted to flee but were promptly apprehended. They have been identified as Zahoor Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Qadir Bhat resident of Ompora, Budgam, and Amir Ahmad Gojri son of Ghulam Mohammad Gojri resident of Mohanpora, Budgam. During search, charas-like substances weighing approximately 47.38 grams was recovered from their possession. One mobile phone was also seized.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 347/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Budgam, and investigation has been initiated.
J&K Police reaffirm their commitment to eliminating drug abuse from society and urge the general public to share any information related to drug peddling or trafficking with the police. Public cooperation is crucial in making the society drug-free.
