Police Cracks Theft Case in Kupwara; 23 Stolen Batteries Recovered

In a swift and focused investigation, Police in Kupwara have achieved a significant breakthrough in a theft case reported on March 30, 2025. Police Post Bazaar received a written complaint stating that unknown miscreants had stolen batteries from tippers and trucks parked at Regipora.

Acting promptly, an FIR No. 88/2025 under Section 303(2) IPC was registered at Police Station Kupwara and investigation was initiated.

During the course of investigation, one suspect, identified as Bilal Ahmad Khan, resident of Town Kupwara was detained and subjected to sustained questioning. Upon his confession, 23 stolen batteries were recovered from a concealed location in the presence of the concerned Executive Magistrate, thereby reinforcing the credibility and transparency of the recovery process.

The investigation is ongoing, and further arrests and recoveries are anticipated as the case progresses.

This recovery underscores J&K Police’s continued resolve to act swiftly against theft and criminal activity, ensuring the safety of public property and maintaining law and order in the region.
