In a commendable initiative aimed at fostering community engagement and promoting sports among the youth, Police in Handwara distributed cricket kits to various local cricket teams under the Civic Action Program at the District Police Lines (DPL) Handwara.
The event was graced by the Additional Superintendent of Police Handwara, who distributed the cricket kits to the enthusiastic teams. The ASP emphasized the importance of sports in building character, discipline, and camaraderie among the youth. He stated, "Sports are a powerful tool to channel the energy of our youth in a positive direction. Through initiatives like these, we aim to strengthen the bond between the police and the community while encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle." Deputy Superintendent of Police DAR, Shri Shafeeq Ahmad, was also present at the event. He remarked, "This initiative is a step towards nurturing talent at the grassroots level and ensuring that our youth have access to the resources they need to pursue their passion for cricket."
The cricket kits included essential equipment such as bats, balls, stumps, and protective gear, which will significantly aid the teams in their practice and matches. The recipients expressed their gratitude to the Police for their support and pledged to make the most of this opportunity.
