Police intensify operations against terror network in Valley

Police has intensified operations against the terror networks in the Valley.
“Police executed a series of meticulously coordinated preventive operations across the Baramulla district. The concerted initiative was aimed at fortifying internal security architecture, neutralizing subversive and law-defying elements, and reinforcing the overall climate of public order and civic assurance,” a police spokesman said.
“During the operations, 6 individuals linked with subversive networks were brought to police stations and bound down under law; 22 properties associated with terrorist associates were searched; 20 terrorist associates were bound down and 02 were sent to jail under preventive detention; 02 individuals booked under UAPA (presently on bail) were examined, 01 bound down under preventive law, 08 bailed UAPA accused were identified for bail cancellation and 02 have been submitted before the competent court; 16 CASOs were conducted at different locations; 292 vehicles were thoroughly checked at various checkpoints across the district; 05 E&IMCO-linked individuals and 02 JEI affiliates were searched to ensure compliance with law; 02 absconding UAPA accused were traced and legal action initiated,” he said.
Police also conducted extensive searches at multiple locations across the district linked with members and associates of banned Jamaat-e-Islami & JKNOPs in Shopian.
“The searches are part of the ongoing crackdown aimed at identifying individuals and networks involved in providing any kind of assistance, logistical or financial, to terror-related activities. Operations are being carried out at various places even today as part of continued efforts to strengthen the security framework in the district,” the police spokesman said.
He said police today carried out coordinated Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) at multiple suspected locations across the district as part of its ongoing campaign against anti-national elements, including JKNOP and other subversive networks.
“Several premises were searched, and identities of numerous individuals were verified during the exercise conducted jointly with security forces,” the spokesman said.
He said J&K Police reiterates its commitment to continue such operations to dismantle terror-support structures, curb anti-national propaganda, and maintain peace and order across the district.
