
The Police Martyrs Memorial Volleyball Tournament, organized by J&K Police under the Civic Action Programme (CAP), successfully concluded with a grand Finale at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Duderhama Ganderbal.
A total of 05 teams from across the district participated with great enthusiasm. The final match was played between Boys Hr. Sec. School Ganderbal and Govt. Boys Hr. Sec. School Khurhama, where Boys Hr. Sec. School Ganderbal emerged victorious with a 2:1 win.
SSP Ganderbal, Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS, presided over the event. During his address, SSP Ganderbal highlighted the importance of the initiative taken under Civic action programme of JK Police with an aim to strengthen the bond between the police and the public especially the youth thereby engaging them in constructive activities, keeping them away from drugs and other negative influences. He also stressed upon the fact that the tournament would act as an opportunity for the youth in the locality to showcase their talent. The event witnessed a very good turnout with local people including youths and children turning up for the event.
At the end of the tournament, the winning and runner-up teams were awarded with the cash prizes and trophies. The event was also attended by DySP (Now SP) Hqr's Ganderbal Shri Owaise Rashid-JKPS, DySP DAR Shri Nazir Ahmad, and other senior police officers.
