Baramulla Police observed Police Commemoration Day at District Police Lines (DPL) Baramulla to pay rich tributes to the brave police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

The function was held at DPL Baramulla on 21-10-2025, where contingents of District Police, 53 Bn CRPF, 2nd Bn SSB, IRP 13th Bn, and Samman Toli participated in the ceremonial parade led by Shri Umar Urfan, JKPS, DySP PC Pattan.
DIG NKR Baramulla, Maqsood-ul-Zaman, IPS took the salute at the parade. On behalf of SSP Baramulla, AdSP Baramulla Shri Hariprasad KK, IPS read out the names of police martyrs from across the nation who has laid down their life at the altar of duty.
A wreath-laying ceremony followed at the Police Martyrs’ Memorial, where DIG NKR Maqsood-ul-Zaman, IPS, AdSP Baramulla Shri Hariprasad KK, IPS, ASP Hqrs Baramulla Ms. Neha Jain, IPS, and other senior officers from Police, Army, and CAPFs paid floral tributes to the fallen heroes.
On the occasion, DIG NKR Baramulla distributed tokens of gratitude along with sketches of the martyrs among the Next of Kin (NoKs) of police martyrs and heard their grievances, assuring prompt and proper redressal. Cash rewards were also presented to meritorious students from martyrs’ families in recognition of their academic excellence.
The solemn ceremony concluded with prayers for peace, unity, and the well-being of the families of the bravehearts who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of the nation.
