
Pulwama, June 19: To commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, police in Pulwama organised a Volleyball Match at Government High School Lassipora under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2026-27.
The match was played between Achan Volleyball Club and Panjran Volleyball Club, with Panjran Volleyball Club emerging victorious and receiving a trophy along with a cash prize of ₹3,000. Achan Volleyball Club secured the runners-up position and was awarded a trophy and a cash amount of ₹2,000. The Player of the Match was awarded a trophy and a cash prize of ₹1,000 for his outstanding performance.
The event was attended by officers of Pulwama Police, besides the Principal, staff members and students of Government High School Lassipora. Speaking on the occasion, the police officers highlighted the importance of sports in promoting discipline, teamwork and a healthy lifestyle among youth. They appreciated the players for their sportsmanship and encouraged young people to actively participate in sports and other constructive activities.
Police reiterated its commitment to promoting sports and positive youth engagement through community-oriented initiatives under CAP 2026-27.
