
In a significant action against the drug menace, J&K Police have attached two residential properties worth approximately ₹45 lakhs belonging to two notorious drug peddlers in Charar-i-Shareif area of Budgam.
A double-storey residential house at village Bonhard Charwani, Charar-i-Shareif, belonging to Khurshid Ahmad Ganie son of Mohammad Abdullah Ganie, involved in FIR No. 100/2024 under Sections 8/15–20 NDPS Act of Police Station Charar-i-Shareif, has been attached.
Similarly, another double-storey residential house at village Nowhar Sarfkhud, Charar-i-Shareif, belonging to Mehraj Ahmad Shah son of Ghulam Hassan Shah, involved in FIR No. 08/2021 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act of the same Police Station, has also been attached.
Investigations have revealed that both accused had raised these properties through proceeds of illicit narcotics trafficking. After completing all legal formalities and based on concrete evidence, the properties were seized under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act.
J&K Police reiterate their firm commitment and zero-tolerance policy towards drug trafficking and urge the public to share any information related to drug peddling to help build a safer, drug-free society.
