Police solves theft case in Budgam

Police in Budgam have successfully solved a theft case, leading to the arrest of accused persons involved in commission of crime and recovered stolen property from their possession.
On 20/03/2025, Police Post Soibugh received a complaint from Ghulam Mohammad Rather, a resident of Wadwan, reporting the theft of paddy from his granary during the night of March 19-20. A case vide FIR No. 59/2025, U/S 305 BNS was registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation was launched.
During the course of investigation, several suspects were questioned. During questioning, Umar Farooq Dar, a resident of Wadwan, confessed to the crime. He admitted to stealing the paddy and selling it to Toha Yousuf Dar of Gotapora Soibugh. The police recovered approximately 03 quintals of stolen paddy from their possession. Both were arrested in the instant case.
The public has appreciated the J&K Police’s efforts in swiftly solving the case. J&K Police urge citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to help maintain law and order in the district.
