
A civilian and a policeman were injured in a grenade attack near Aali Masjid, Iddgah in downtown Srinagar on Wednesday evening.
Police sources said militants lobbed a grenade towards a police party near Aali Masjid in Iddgah.
The grenade exploded on the road, causing splinter injuries to two persons – a civilian Ajaz Nabi Bhat of Hawal Srinagar and a policeman Sajad Ahmad Bhat.
The civilian received splinter injury in left side of his face and arm while policeman sustained injuries in left foot
The injured persons were rushed to SMHS hospital, where doctors are attending on them.
After the grenade attack, police and CRPF men rushed to the spot and launched combing and search operations to track down militants responsible for the grenade attack.
