
A J&K policeman and a civilian were injured when militants opened indiscriminate firing in the downtown Srinagar on Tuesday evening.
Official sources said militants opened fire with automatic weapons at Shiraz Chowk in the downtown Srinagar this evening.
One report said militants fired at a car in which a policeman and a civilian were travelling in Khanyar area, injuring both of them.
Following the attack, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a massive search operation, adding further details are awaited.
Till the time of filing of this report, there were no reports of any arrests being made in connection with the shooting. The police have filed a case and investigations have been started.
