Presentation Convent, Netherfield Win Football titles

Baramulla, Sep 16: The Rev. Fr. C.B. Simons Memorial Football Tournament concluded today at St. Joseph’s School Ground, Baramulla, with the finals of the Under-15 Boys and Girls categories.

In the Under-15 Girls final, Presentation Convent School, Srinagar, emerged as the champions, while Netherfield School, Sopore, clinched the Under-15 Boys title.
Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Baramulla, Pranjal J. Hazarika, was the Chief Guest at the concluding ceremony and presented trophies and prizes to the winning teams. He congratulated the young players and appreciated the organisers for promoting football and providing students with opportunities to showcase their sporting talent.
The concluding ceremony was further enlivened by an impressive drill and band display presented by the students of St. Joseph’s School, which was appreciated by the gathering.
Representatives of various participating schools, school authorities, sponsors, teachers, students, players and other guests attended the ceremony.
The tournament provided young footballers with a platform to compete in a positive sporting environment while promoting discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship and camaraderie among students.
