Srinagar, Aug 28: Prime Business Voice, a new quarterly business publication focusing on Kashmir’s entrepreneurs, enterprises and emerging economic opportunities, was formally launched in Srinagar on Friday.
Founded by media veteran Rouf Majid, who brings nearly 15 years of international media experience, the publication seeks to provide an editorially driven platform for Kashmir’s business and professional community.
The launch ceremony brought together business leaders, government representatives, healthcare professionals, architects, engineers, legal experts and hospitality-sector stakeholders.
The magazine will cover business, technology, policy and economic affairs, while focusing on investment, tourism, environmental issues, governance, corporate social responsibility, legal frameworks and emerging market opportunities.
Speaking at the launch, Editor and Publisher Rouf Majid said Kashmir has a strong community of entrepreneurs and professionals whose contributions often remain under-reported.
He said the publication aims to bring their achievements and challenges into focus while promoting informed discussion on the region’s economic prospects from both national and global perspectives.
The initiative was welcomed by representatives from various sectors.
Javid Ahmad Tenga, President of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), said the publication comes at an important time for the business community and could provide greater space for dialogue between entrepreneurs and policymakers.
Healthcare representative Dr Salim Wani, a prominent urologist and transplant surgeon, highlighted the growing intersection between healthcare, innovation, policy and economic development, saying informed business journalism could contribute to a stronger healthcare ecosystem.
Architect-engineer Ar. Imtiyaz Ahmad Chiloo emphasised the importance of showcasing sustainable construction, innovative design and infrastructure development, while hospitality-sector representative Najeeb A. Siddiqui said greater visibility for businesses linked to tourism could highlight the sector’s wider economic contribution.
Sajad Ahmad Mir, CEO of Sajad Mir and Associates, stressed the importance of connecting discussions on urban mobility, infrastructure, governance and legal literacy with commercial development.
Prime Business Voice will be available in both print and digital formats, with an initial print circulation of 1,000 copies. The publication will be distributed through corporate centres, hotels, educational institutions and professional hubs.
The inaugural issue features profiles, interviews and sectoral analyses focusing on entrepreneurs, professionals and institutions shaping Kashmir’s evolving business landscape.
The publication aims to bridge the gap between local enterprise and wider regional and national markets, providing a platform for business news, market trends, leadership perspectives and enterprise developments across Jammu and Kashmir.
