In a significant move to strengthen the governance of Central Universities, the Hon’ble President of India, in her capacity as the Visitor of Central Universities, has nominated Prof. Dinesh Chandra Rai, the current Vice-Chancellor of BR Ambedkar Bihar University (BRABU), as her nominee to the prestigious Court of Manipur University. The nomination is effective for a period of three years, as confirmed by a notification issued by the Ministry of Education. Prof. Rai is a distinguished figure in the fields of Dairy Science and Food Technology, with decades of experience in academic administration and governance.

The University Court is the apex body of the university, responsible for reviewing the broad policies and programmes of the University. As the Visitor’s Nominee under Statute 10(5)(xxv) of the Manipur University Act, 2005, Prof. Rai is expected to provide essential oversight and expertise on administrative and academic matters.
Speaking on his acceptance of the high-profile nomination, Prof. Rai expressed his profound gratitude for the trust placed in him by the Visitor.
