Pulwama , Aug 24: Pulwama is set to host the Inter-District Provincial-Level Softball Championship for Under-17 boys and girls from various districts of Kashmir division, beginning today. Organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Jammu and Kashmir, the championship will continue till September 11, 2026, according to the schedule issued by the department.

The matches will be played at the Boys Degree College and Women’s Degree College in Pulwama. Teams from different districts of Kashmir are expected to participate in the championship, with their arrival in Pulwama scheduled to be completed by the evening of August 23.The event is being conducted under the supervision of the Joint Director, Youth Services and Sports, Kashmir, while the District Youth Services and Sports Office, Pulwama, is making arrangements for the tournament.
Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Dr Basharat Qayoom will inaugurate the championship. Officials of the Department of Youth Services and Sports and other concerned authorities are expected to attend the inaugural ceremony. The department said the championship aims to provide young players with an opportunity to showcase their sporting talent and promote teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship among them.
